Kim Moody
Owner & Principal Planner
Kim is also the fun-loving owner of Kim Moody Design & the retail store “trend.”, who balances life as a mother, wife, and boss lady all wrapped into one smart business gal. Kim created Kim Moody Design out of the simple love of a good party. She is a master of many trades, a collector of knowledge, and wise beyond her years. Kim is a mentor to many and a firm believer that family is the most important thing in life. She is always up for an adventure and the lake is her happy place. Her calm nature brings you instant peace, and her strong will can, and has, made the impossible happen.
Kim's Master's Degree in Conflict Transformation with an emphasis in Negotiation has given her a very specialized niche in the wedding industry. She has spoken at national wedding conferences across the United States for audiences as large as 3,000 event professionals. She has a wall full of diplomas and educational certificates and is constantly enrolling herself in something to continue learning and growing as an individual!

In addition to all she does, Kim works devotedly as an advocate for the wedding industry. At the national level, Kim is a member of the Live Events Coalition - a network of 12 million live events professionals across the United States. Within the State of Virginia, Kim serves as the Advisor to the President of VOWS, the Virginia Organization of Wedding Standards. As a founding charter member, Kim works alongside VOWS to actively lobby for the wedding industry as it continues to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although very business-minded, Kim lets her vibrant and contagious personality shine through! When she isn’t working, you will find her having a blast at the lake. She values the weekends at Lake Gaston with her son, daughter, husband, and lake-loving friends. You’ll find her swimming, boating and hanging on the dock in the sunshine. Who said a boss lady couldn’t have a little fun?

Abby Bowles
Assistant Planner & Office Administrator
Abby is our Assistant Wedding Coordinator and Office Assistant. She graduated from James Madison University in 2017 where she earned a Bachelors of Music with a concentration in education. A Richmond native, Abby now lives in North Chesterfield with her husband, Jimmy, two cats, and Miniature Australian Shepherd. When she isn’t planning weddings at River Run, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, indulging her online shopping habits, and eating/drinking her way through the incredible Richmond restaurant scene.

Abby has always been very interested in the coordination of events, both big and small! She takes after her mother in her attention to small details, which was fostered and grown through her experience in musical theatre productions from the perspective of both a performer and artistic team member.
Her love of working behind the scenes has been prevalent in many areas of her life, but she found her full appreciation and passion for wedding coordination with the planning of her own wedding in Fall of 2019.

Abby made the transition to wedding coordination in Spring 2021 after teaching music for three years in a local school system and has not looked back since! Her experience in the classroom certainly helps her in wrangling wedding party members and in keeping a calm, collected demeanor on wedding days.
For Abby, the best part of a wedding is getting to catch the small moments of love and joy shared by the bride and groom during and following the ceremony. Abby can’t wait to welcome you to The Estate at River Run!

Bill Gilliam
Director of Business Development
Bill is our Director of Business Development and works with our corporate, private and charitable clients to help them meet, entertain, and celebrate in grand style. He's a fan of classic cars, great music, good people, and sharp clothes. Anytime he is spotted at The Estate he is dressed to the nines!

Virginia Commonwealth University was his alma mater, where he received a degree in Business Administration and Management with a concentration in Real Estate. A series of corporate jobs lead him on his path to own Choice Entertainment for 22 years; a booking agency that did over 1,200+ events annually. A professional entertainer since the age of 15 he also found time to perform as a DJ and Master of Ceremonies at over 1,000 weddings, and hundreds of corporate events in 17 states and Canada. A few years ago he was fortunate enough to live the dream of every small business owner and sell Choice Entertainment, rebrand it as Black Tie Entertainment, and run it for the new owner for a couple of additional years after the transition. But now - he's ALL IN on helping our clients create great events here…and, of course, entertaining all of us at River Run. :) He keeps us laughing in the office all the time!

And as one of our featured DJ’s, Bill says his favorite part about events is always the planning process, and working to exceed his clients’ expectations to give guests memories that will last a lifetime. He loves seeing it all come together on wedding day, and delivering something that is personal and unique for every couple. Bill has a way of bringing all ages to the dance floor, and keeping the dance floor full all night. We know he will bring that same spark to so many corporate events here at The Estate too!

In life, his greatest accomplishment is his family. Bill shares his life with a wife, [Jennifer who we adore!], daughter Campbell, and son Cole. And you know we are dog people -- we couldn’t forget about his four-legged friends! Their family has fostered 12 dogs over the past few years and have 3 rescues currently living with them. When Bill is not working, you will likely find him in Duck, North Carolina on the deck, sipping a little bourbon on the rocks and listening to the crashing waves.... while he ponders what fun he is going to bring to River Run next!

Andrew Moody
Owner & Director of Finance (Lead Micromanager)
Andrew is a numbers guy through and through. He is the one that keeps our company together, the checkbook balanced, and the bills paid on time.
He's a gentle father, kind-hearted, a sounding board, and a family man. This guy is crazy about Hokie Football; as an alumnus of Virginia Tech, in his younger "child-free" years, Andrew attended a few games each season for many years after College. These days he is lucky to catch a game or two a year on tv from his living room.
With a Degree in Property Management and Minors in Business and Real Estate, Andrew is the perfect caretaker for managing the property for our team. This Spring he will be spending a few days per week on a lawnmower preparing the property for weddings and events. Andrew is looking forward to that quiet time and a slight break from the monotony of his computer screen.
He has spent his career as an Accountant and Bookkeeper for small businesses and he continues to do so under his own company, "Stewardship Solutions." We are fortunate to have him as part of our in-house team at River Run.
